A MODEL accountancy student working towards his ACCA qualification has won a flatscreen TV.
Thomas White of Finnigan & Co chartered accountants, who is studying in Ipswich with accountancy tuition provider FTC Kaplin, was entered automatically into an East Anglian-wide “Student of the Sitting” competition run by FTC Kaplan along with all those working towards the June ACCA exams with them.
Throughout their studies, they were monitored by their tutors for attendance, completion of work to schedule and for attitude during class. Mr White was the unanimous choice for the prize at a meeting of tutors.
“Thomas was a great young man to teach. He is an excellent ambassador for his firm and I am sure will continue to be successful in his career,” said Tim Howes, centre manager for FTC Kaplan Ipswich.
“We were delighted when Johnstones Recruitment Solutions offered to sponsor a prize for our Student of the Sitting.
“As tutors, we are award that studying for these exams is very demanding and we wanted a way of acknowledging that some students' efforts reflect dedication beyond the norm.”
Mr White said: “I wanted to do well in my ACCA examinations and so I did study hard. It is nice to know that my efforts have paid off with winning this prize. I just hope my examination results will be as good.”
