A MANAGING partner at Colchester law firm Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP is stepping down from his role at the end of March to concentrate on the firm's expanding commercial department.

Tony Fisher, who will remain senior partner in the firm, said the department has experienced “unprecedented growth” locally and nationally.

“We are also developing our international practice by acting for overseas companies intent on setting up in the UK,” he said.

“I will now be concentrating on growing the department further and will be heavily involved with the business development of the firm as a whole. Needless to say, I am very much looking forward to the challenges which lie ahead.”

The role of managing partner will be taken by Chris Yemm, who heads up the firm's civil litigation department. He will be helped by commercial property partner Mike Theeman.

“Tony has done an outstanding job in building the success and profile of Fisher Jones Greenwood, but will now focus on the commercial department and business development in general,” said Mr Yemm.
