Tools store creates new jobs for town
SPECIALIST tools and machinery supplier, Machine Mart is celebrating a milestone after opening its 60th store.
The new store, which opened in the Ipswich Trade Centre on Commercial Road on July 19, has created four new jobs in the town.
A spokesperson for the company said: “Machine Mart is continually expanding throughout the UK, and we’re pleased to open our 60th store in Ipswich so we can offer the people of Suffolk competitive prices and expert knowledge.”
Store operations manager Mike Hanson added he was pleased with the response from Ipswich residents.
“It’s been really well received so far and we’ve been very busy,” he said. “We have a very committed customer base and the customers have all been saying how great it is to see us in Ipswich.”
Previously, branches in Colchester or Norwich were the closest stores for locals.
“The location of the new store is good – we’re very visible and we’ve got lots of parking,” Mike added.

Machine Mart was established in 1981 and sells a wide range of tools and machinery, such as air compressors, generators and power tools.
