IPSWICH Town stars Fabian Wilnis and John Wark put in appearances at the Suffolk Show today and spent time with fans in the sports zone.

Wilnis, 38, was released by the club last year but is due a testimonial later this summer.

The defender was one of the longest-serving Town players when he left after spending nearly a decade there, racking up nearly 300 matches in blue.

Town legend Wark was signing copies of his new autobiography Wark On and chatting with fans about his distinguished career.

He said: “Everyone's asking about the book but they're also asking about Roy Keane and how I think he will do.

“I think he will probably need about three or four players - you don't need many to get where you need to be. He'll need to improve the home form too.”

Wark, who lives in the small village of Onehouse, near Stowmarket, said he had not had much spare time to explore the show but was looking forward to seeing what was on offer later in the day.

With a marquee in the sports zone selling Town merchandise and staff painting the faces of children, the club was well represented at the event, one of the biggest on the county's calendar.
