AN award-winning department store has notched up an accolade for its toy department.
Colchester-based Williams & Griffin has been voted Regional Toy Shop of the Year at the Toy Retailers Association Awards.
The independent outlet, which recently scooped the 2007 Drapers Award for Best Department Store in the UK, was one of three stores to be shortlisted by toy suppliers for the Midlands,Wales and Anglia category.
The other two stores shortlisted were Pearsons of Enfield and Lighthouse Toys in Histon, Cambridge.
The winners were announced at an awards ceremony at the International Hotel in Canary Wharf, London, on Thursday, January 31. A total of 15 stores in five categories were nominated for regional awards.
Julie Hayward of Williams & Griffin, said: “We are delighted to win yet another award. This award was judged purely on excellent customer service and this is thanks to the dedication and hard work of the toy department team.”
