The four-star Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa in Newmarket has entered TripAdvisor’s “Hall of Fame” after winning the travel review website’s Certificate of Excellence for a fifth consecutive year.

It is the latest in a string of accolades for the hotel which last September was upgraded by the AA from four black stars to four red stars, a status held by only 55 hotels in the country.

Noel Byrne, chief executive at Bedford Lodge, said: “We pride ourselves on excellent service and maintaining luxurious surroundings so it is particularly rewarding to receive such favourable reviews from our guests over the past five years.

“A big thank you to our team for always going above and beyond to ensure our guests have a positive experience. We will always strive to maintain our standards and to go that extra mile for all our guests. Thank you to all of you who have spent the time to leave feedback – it is crucial to us.”

In the past few years the 77-bedroom hotel has benefited from a £12m investment programme including a luxury on-site £5.5million spa and a £300,000 upgrade of gym facilities at its health and fitness club, The Edge.

TripAdvisor said: “The Certificate of Excellence can be earned only by receiving consistently great reviews.”
