A SUFFOLK-based games manufacturer which went into administration in April has been acquired by a major games company from the United States.
Administrators from the Ipswich office of McTear Williams and Wood said there had been considerable interest in Claydon-based Upstarts! as a result of its strong link with its suppliers and household named customers.
And Chris Williams, of McTear Williams and Wood, said he was confident that the new owner, University Games, would put all its effort into the successful regeneration of the company.
The sale had been possible through the enthusiasm of Upstarts founder Tom White and his other senior board members who had worked hard in providing the information to the purchasers, added Mr Williams.
“We look forward to strengthening our distribution in the United Kingdom with Upstarts!, who are one of the leading games manufacturers in the UK”, said Bob Moog, president of University Games Corp.
