A WEST Suffolk hotel has been awarded three Rosettes by the AA for its food, becoming only the second restaurant in the county to hold such a high rating at present.

Tuddenham Mill, near Mildenhall, was one of only seven restaurants in the whole of the UK to be awarded a higher rating in the most recent update of the AA’s listings, with its three Rosettes putting it among the top 10% of all the restaurants inspected by the organisation.

The long-established scheme is based entirely on independent assessments by AA inspectors, with no influence from hotels, restaurants or other guides.

AA hotel services manager Simon Numphud said: “Restaurants serving food of a three Rosette standard are worthy of recognition from well beyond their local area and I am delighted that these very deserving restaurants have been acknowledged for their efforts.”

Tuddenham Mill head chef Paul Foster said: “This is a fantastic honour for us and really pays tribute to all the hard work myself and the team at Tuddenham Mill have put in.

“To be recognised in this way by the AA and alongside such eminent establishments is a real privilege.”

Suffolk’s other three-Rosette restaurant is the Bildeston Crown, near Hadleigh.
