Potato farmers have teamed up with turkey producers to create a locally-grown and produced festive flavour crisp.

Fairfields Farm Crisps, made by potato farmers Robert and Laura Strathern at Wormingford, near Colchester, has joined forces with Danbury-based Kelly Bronze turkeys, run by Paul Kelly, to create a new flavour to add to its range - turkey, sage and onion.

Produced on the family farm, the new crisps use only potatoes that are dug, chopped, cooked and packed on site to ensure the best taste and the lowest possible food miles.

Kelly Bronze is renowned for its high welfare premium festive birds.

“We are really excited to be working with the team at Kelly Bronze to bring out an exciting new flavour for our customers, for the holiday season,” said third-generation potato farmer Robert, who co-founded family farm diversification, Fairfields Farm Crisps, in 2006.

“We wanted to do something that reflected Britain’s favourite flavours and couldn’t think of anything better than turkey, sage and onion. It’s a winning combination whatever the time of year.”

The crisps will be available from delis and farm shops nationwide and online through Amazon.
