FIRE crews in Ipswich were busy overnight dealing with four blazes in the town.

Shortly after 4.40am today firefighters were sent to Argyll Street to put out a rubbish fire. However, they only gave advice as the blaze had been put out when they arrived.

Just before 1.20am two crews were despatched to Stratford Road, Ipswich, to reports that a car was alight.

At 11.26pm yesterday firefighters had to tackle another fire involving some rubbish in Bedford Street, Ipswich.

Less than 15 minutes later they were sent to nearby St Matthew's Street where a wheelie bin was on fire in a car park.

Elsewhere, one fire crew put out a paper bank blaze in Market Place, Saxmundham, after being called at 1.24am today.

Finally, another wheelie bin fire broke out in Lester Piggott Way, Newmarket just before 2.25am today.
