A woman is appealing for people to join her to make Sudbury a more dementia friendly town.

Charlotte Gray Farrer wants to create a Sudbury Dementia Action Alliance to generate ideas and raise awareness of the condition to help support those who suffer from it.

Ms Gray Farrer said: “The first goal for the dementia action alliance would be to have everyone that is customer facing throughout the town to have more of an understanding of those with dementia.

“This will allow someone living with dementia to feel that when they go about their everyday life in Sudbury they are better supported.

“There are lots of great ideas about how the town can step forward to being more dementia friendly and the best people to speak to are those with dementia about what they want from our town, therefore once a committee is brought together we could create a working group with people who are living with dementia in order to see what they feel is really needed.

“There is plenty of opportunity to make a difference and make the town better for those living with dementia and I would love to see the committee grow.”
