CONSERVATIVE leader David Cameron was today caught up in an assassination attempt on Pakistan's Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gillani.

At least two shots were fired at Mr Gillani's armoured car near the country's capital Islamabad but although bullets penetrated the glass, it is uncertain if he was in it.

Mr Cameron is visiting Pakistan after meeting British troops in Afghanistan yesterday and is scheduled to deliver a speech this afternoon warning that terrorism could threaten the survival of Pakistan.
