A cat special this week, could you open your home to one of these felines currently looking for a new home at the Blue Cross centre in Wherstead?
First on our list this week is Sukie, a calm and friendly girl who likes to sit on laps and get a bit fuss as well as playing around with string toys once in a while.
She enjoys nothing more than going outside and sunbathing, she can live with older children that can come and visit her at the centre first.
Sukie has never lived with other pets before but could be rehomed with a calm cat or a dog that is used to living with cats before, the team at the centre can advise on how to introduce them.
How about going for the sweet Minxy? A sweet and gentle cat that loves a good bit of fuss as well as sitting on laps and playing with string toys.
Minxy would need to live in a quiet home after previously living in a busier household and feeling a little bit overwhelmed.
She could also live with calm older children but would need to meet them first at the centre to see how Minxy gets on.
This adventurous feline is Loki, a spirited soul who loves exploring the world and seeing what is out there.
Loki has lived with children before but found babies too stressful but could possibly live with school aged children.
Loki has also lived with female cats before and was happy to house share and could again but is currently looking for a home without dogs.
Next up on our list is Milo, a gentle soul that loves nothing more than a bit of fusxs and a nice comfy lap to sit on.
Milo can live with older children following a successful meet at the centre, but would need to be calm around him to avoid worrying him.
Milo can live in a home with other cats but can’t share with a dog.
How about giving Dude the cat a brand new home? a friendly cat that enjoys sitting on laps as well as being independent outside and finding comfy places to settle in.
Dude would need to live in a home with school aged children as any younger has overwhelmed him in the past.
Dude would also need to live in a home with no other cats or dogs.
Last but not least is Chloe, she is definitely one that enjoys a bit of fuss and sitting on your lap in the evenings
Chloe can share a home with school age children, but would need to meet them at the centre first.
She would also need to be the only pet in the home and living in an area where there isn’t too many cats as she become a little worried by neighboring cats at her last home.
The process to adopt any of these pets is simple and begins with applicants completing a ‘Homefinder’ form.
This can either be completed online or in-house at the Blue Cross centre on Bourne Hill, Wherstead.
The re-homing fees for dogs aged over 16 weeks is £160 and the fee for cats is £65.
Where possible all pets are neutered, micro-chipped and will have had at least their first vaccination before going to new homes.
New owners have the benefit of four weeks of free pet insurance, as well as free behaviour support for the lifetime of their pet.
