A WOMAN was taken to hospital complaining of neck and back pain after the car she was a passenger in was in collision with a tree.

The accident happened on the A142 Fordham Road in Exning, near Newmarket, around 9.30pm on Friday.

A grey Mercedes is understood to have left the road and collided with a tree.

The driver and passenger, both thought to be elderly, had to be cut free by the fire service.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said a woman was taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds complaining of neck and back pain, however her injuries were not thought to be serious.
