Volunteer paramedics sprang into action at Six Mile Bottom, between Cambridge and Newmarket, after two cars crashed on the A1304.

The incident occurred on the main road between around 11.16 am, close to the small village on the edge of Cambridgeshire.

A paramedic for Suffolk Accident Rescue Service - a charity providing free care from specially trained medics - attended the scene and assisted in the treatment of two women who had both sustained injuries from the car crash.

Police, East of England Ambulance paramedics and the Cambridge-based East Anglian air ambulance all attended the collision.

The two women, one of whom had leg injuries, were both take by ambulance to hospitals for further treatment.
