Four people had to be rescued after the car they were in became stuck in mud on the River Colne.
Just after 7.20pm yesterday, Thames Coastguard was alerted by Essex Fire Service to the vehicle, which was stuck at Point Clear near Clacton.
Clacton Coastguard Rescue Team and Essex Fire Service attended, with Walton Coastguard Rescue Team mustered for back up.
The vehicle was eventually towed out by a local tractor. All four occupants were safe and well.
