Ceramic artwork inspired by a childhood growing up beside the River Deben will be going on show at a prestigious international art fair later this year.

Annie Turner, who grew up in Waldringfield, said her close connection with the river, which goes back generations in her family, has greatly influenced her work as a ceramicist.

Many of her pieces feature complex grids, which warp in the kiln’s extreme heat, symbolising the fluctuation of the river’s streams.

She will be exhibiting at the Henry Moore and Gulbenkian Galleries at The Royal College Art in London from April 17 to 19, as one of 80 attending Ceramic Art London.
