‘Chaos’ at Stansted Airport as thunderstorms disrupt holidaymakers’ journeys

Holidaymakers have reported chaotic scenes at Stansted this morning after adverse weather led to delays and cancellations at airports across the country.

Yesterday was expected to be the busiest day of the year for air travel, with 670 flights departing from and arriving at Stansted, in Essex.

Dozens of frustrated passengers turned to social media to air their grievances some reporting “total chaos” and delays of up to six hours.
