A cat owner suffered heartache just before Christmas when their pet was shot dead.
The Tabby cat was attacked between 5pm-6.30pm on December 23 in the area of The Leys, Chelmsford.
Despite the pet being taken to a vet it later died.
Investigating officer, Pc Alex Doyle, said: “This incident would clearly have been extremely distressing for the owner, so I would really urge anyone with any information to call police.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Pc Doyle, or his colleagues at Chelmsford, on 101. Alternatively, call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
