FIREFIGHTERS battled a large blaze which raged through a plastics warehouse in Chelmsford during the early hours of this morning.
Flames completely engulfed the building, belonging to Chelmsford Plastics Warehouse, soon after 4.30am, in Ash Tree Farm, Boyton Cross.
Two Chelmsford fire crews were joined by colleagues from Baddow and Ingatestone on scene, as the blaze took hold, enveloping the 40m by 20m structure.
The electricity board was called at one point to isolate the external supply to the site. By 6.50am the flames were under control.
A joint police and fire service investigation will be carried out to establish the cause.
