A number of roads were closed in Chelmsford this evening following a report of a gas leak.
A leak was reported in Spring Road at 8.21pm and police officers were called to the scene.
A spokesman for Essex police said that Spring Road and a number of adjoining roads had been closed as a result.
However, the leak was not thought to be serious and engineers were able to secure the scene.
The closed roads were set to re-open at 8.35pm.
