Police have released a CCTV image of a man suspected of stealing a three-figure sum of cash from the reception of a Chelmsford hotel.
The burglary happened at the Saracen’s Head hotel on the high street, shortly before 4.30am on Wednesday, July 11.
Police believe a guest, who had been staying at the hotel for several days, stole a three-figure sum of cash from reception before leaving.
Investigating officer, Pc Marcus Baker, said: “This man gave hotel staff false details so we’re at a loss at the moment as to who he is. We have obtained this very good CCTV image of him and hope that someone can provide us with a name.”
It is thought that the burglar has travelled through Suffolk, Kent, Sussex and London, as well as Essex, since the start of July.
Anyone with information is urged to contact investigating officers at Chelmsford police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
