A house has been struck by lightning as the wet weather continues to hit parts of Suffolk and north Essex.
Fire crews were called to St Catherine’s Road, Chelmsford, just before 12.10pm after reports of a lightning strike.
Appliances from the town arrived to find that the property’s chimney had become unstable.
Firefighters went up a ladder to re-adjust the part of the building, making it safe to leave at 1.15pm.
