Developer educates children on health and safety
Pupils from a Red Lodge primary school visited a new housing development in the village to learn about the importance of health and safety.
Children from The Pines Primary School took a trip to Barratt Homes’ new Hunter’s Chase development and enjoyed a tour of the site and its sales and information centre.
Barratt Homes wanted to inform schools nearby to developments about the importance of safety around building sites – especially during the Christmas holidays.
Kerry Darby, headteacher at The Pines Primary School, said: “The site safety visit was extremely useful for our pupils. Living so close to the development, it’s important that they understand how to be safe around potentially dangerous areas.”
Annette Hurst, sales director at Barratt Homes Eastern Counties, said: “We’re so pleased we could offer pupils at The Pines a tour of the nearby Hunter’s Chase development and also help them understand about health and safety around building sites.
“Our developments are built in areas ideal for families so we think it’s really important we’re educating children, especially as this time of year, on how to behave around these areas. We hope the pupils at The Pines learnt a lot and enjoyed themselves on the visit.”
