A Suffolk soprano is set to perform on the farewell tour of one of the Three Tenors – after her final homecoming concert this Christmas.
Christina Johnston, who attended Framlingham College before embarking on a career in music, said she was thrilled to have been invited to join Jose Carreras at Kenwood House next year.
71-year-old Carreras, who rose to fame as one third of The Three Tenors, alongside Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti, will be performing at the London venue on Sunday, June 16. Carreras will also be accompanied by The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and conductor David Giménez.
Meanwhile, Christina is preparing for her final Suffolk concert, Chrissy at Christmas, at Aldeburgh Parish Church on Saturday, December 22, Funds raised will go towards the Sick Children’s Trust for which Christina is an ambassador. Email info@christinajohnston.co.uk for tickets.
