Hundreds of people from churches across Felixstowe gathered together to mark Good Friday at an open-air service in the town centre.
The event – organised by Churches Together in Felixstowe and led by a joint worship band drawn from the congregations – also saw processions of witness with some church groups walking to the service with a member carrying a cross.
As well as worship songs, the service at The Triangle in Hamilton Road, which was led by Mick Warner of Maidstone Road Baptist Church, also included drama-dance by students of the Felixstowe International College to the Newsboys’ song God’s Not Dead, prayers and a talk from speaker Simon Scott, CYM Ipswich director and a member of Felixstowe Salvation Army.
The event was the start of the Easter weekend at the resort, which also includes services at all churches and on Easter Sunday at 6.15am a Sunrise Service at the Pier Plaza in front of the leisure centre.
