A YOUNG child has been taken to hospital after getting into difficulty in the sea.
Thames Coastguard was notified of a five-year-old child in the sea, near Clacton Pier Gap, just after 11.30am on Wednesday.
Clacton Coastguard was called and the team pulled the child from the sea – it was discovered they were suffering from ingestion of water and a reduced level of consciousness.
The child was then taken to hospital by land ambulance.
