LIFEBOAT crews were called to the aid of a kite surfer in trouble off the coast at Clacotn this afternoon.
Clacton RNLI’s D-class lifeboat was sent to help the man at 1pm in the sea off Martello Bay, but he managed to get back to the shore safely on his own.
The lifeboat then recovered his kite and rigging.
