A MAN is today being questioned by police after an armed robbery at a betting shop in Clacton.
Police officers are appealing for witnesses after a man allegedly walked into Ladbrookes in Old Road in the town and held up staff just before 4pm yesterday.
An Essex police spokesman said the man appeared to be holding a gun in a plastic bag.
Staff handed over money to the thief.
Officers immediately searched the area and the police helicopter was also mobilised.
A man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery.
The 25-year-old man from Clacton was arrested today and is currently in police custody.
