POLICE have arrested a man in relation to a stabbing inside the Premier shop in Old Road, Clacton, yesterday.

Officers were called to the scene at about 6.50pm yesterday following reports a man had been stabbed in the buttocks, arm and leg during an altercation.

The victim, who is in his 20s and from London, was taken to Colchester General Hospital but went home about three hours later after receiving treatment.

A 26-year-old man from Kent was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after police stopped a car on the A12 near Kelvedon at 9.30pm yesterday – he is still in custody.

A 16-year-old boy from Clacton was also arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon after he was stopped by police in Old Road at about 7.30pm.

Detective are still appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or people with information about the events leading up to the incident, to contact them.
