An investigation has been launched into the cause of a fire which started in a fourth floor Essex flat.

The blaze broke out at Marina Point, in West Road, Clacton, just before 8.50pm.

Firefighters from Clacton, Weeley, Frinton and Colchester arrived to find a quarter of the flat alight.

The flames were out by 9.55pm and an investigation will now be carried out to establish the cause.
