Police are appealing for information following a targeted vandal attack at a Clacton hotel which caused a 24-hour disruption.
The Travelodge on Jackson Road had its third-floor fire alarm glass panel smashed shortly before 2.30pm on Saturday, December 28.
Investigating Officer, Pc Ryan Weavers, said: “A group of six boys and two girls entered the building. A few moments later, the fire alarm was activated maliciously as a result of its glass panel being smashed.
“The gas supply then automatically switched off and so the hotel was forced to refund all their customers. We’re looking to identify the individuals in this group as well as anyone who saw the panel being broken.”
Anyone who knows the identity of those who were in the group should contact investigating officers at Clacton police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
