A woman was hurt after jumping from an upper floor window to escape a blaze in her home.
She jumped from a first floor window to flee a fire at her homein Castle Road, Clacton.
Firefighters arriving at the scene just before 3am on Saturday found the 30-year-old casualty conscious but suffering back injuries. She was left in the care of the Ambulance Service.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to tackle the blaze. Once it was out, by 03:35 hrs, they used a high pressure fan to clear the flat of smoke.
A joint Police and Fire Service investigtion will be carried out to establish the cause of the blaze.
