A SECURITY guard has been threatened during cash-in-transit robbery in Colchester.
The man was threatened with a claw hammer whilst he was making a collection at the Esso Braiswick service station in Bergholt Road at about 2.25pm yesterday.
The robber grabbed a cash box containing a four-figure sum and fled in a blue hatchback or estate car which had been parked behind a hedge next to the forecourt.
Detectives are now appealing for information.
The robber is described as white, aged about 20, 5ft 10-11, slim build, clean shaven with short hair.
He was wearing mirrored sunglasses, blue jeans and a light-coloured round-necked top.
