Coastguard called to report of injured seal that turned out to be asleep

Thames Coastguard were made aware of reports of an injured seal, which turned out to be asleep.

The coastguard was called to reports of a seal injured on Thorpeness beach at 12.15pm.

Although no one was tasked, a lifeboat crew member was nearby and confirmed the seal was asleep on the beach, and that it would swim away at the next high tide.
