COASTGUARDS have exploded two pieces of ordnance.
At 10.35am yesterday, a controlled explosion of two pieces of ordnance was carried out on the beach at Westcliff on Sea by the Naval Explosive Ordnance Division, assisted by Southend Coastguard.
Essex Police were also in attendance and enforced a 100 metres exclusion zone around the beach for public safety.
