COASTGUARDS went to the aid of a jet-skier who hit a sandbank on the River Deben last night.
The man ran aground on the bank at 8.35pm and was taken to shore by Felixstowe coastguard and Harwich Inshore Lifeboat.
The Harwich lifeboat was called out again at 10.45 to help two people aboard the seven-metre yacht Quidom, which had run aground at Landguard Point at the entrance to Harwich Harbour. The yacht was towed ashore.
No-one was hurt in either incident.
