Colchester: Appeal for witnesses after fatal crash

POLICE in Colchester are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old passenger was killed in a crash yesterday.

The crash happened in Bromley Road, Colchester around 1.35pm yesterday.

A black Citroen Saxo was in collision with a council road sweeper travelling in the opposite direction.

The passenger in the car, an 18-year-old local man, died at the scene.

The driver, also aged 18 from Colchester, was taken to hospital with facial and other serious injuries and has been detained for treatment.

The driver and passenger in the road sweeper lorry were uninjured.

Police are keen to hear from any witnesses to the crash, or anyone who saw the car in the moments prior to the collision.
