Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was involved in a collision with a car.

It happened in Berechurch Hall Road near the junction with Monkwick Avenue on Sunday at around 11.20pm.

A 43-year-old man was crossing the road when the collision with what is thought to be a blue Peugeot 206 occurred.

He sustained only minor injuries but the car, possibly driven by a young female driver, left the scene heading towards Mersea Road and the town centre.

The front nearside wing mirror was knocked off the car and police at Stanway Road Policing unit are appealing for its driver or anyone with information to contact Pc Trevor Sleet on 101.
