A DOG was rescued by firefighters today after falling through ice on a reservoir while out for a brisk New Year walk.
The pet got into difficulty while out for a walk with its owner at 9.10am today in Tye Road, Elmstead, near Colchester.
Three crews from Colchester fire station attended the scene and laid down a rescue path to free the dog, which was brought to safety by 9.45am and left in the care of its owner.
