The incident took place on Colchester High Street just before 1pm.
Police report a grey Suzuki motorbike collided with the woman, who sustained serious leg injuries. The Essex Air Ambulance took her to Colchester General Hospital where her condition is reported to be stable.
Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been booked into custody.
A section of the High Street was closed for several hours but has now been reopened.
