A GANG wielding a knife have attacked and robbed a man in Colchester.
The 20-year-old victim was walking through an alleyway near Hawthorn Avenue, Greenstead, at around 2am this morning when he was confronted by a gang of four men, three of whom were wearing hoodies and one had a knife.
He was threatened, had his Blackberry mobile phone stolen and was attacked by the men.
He sustained wounds to his face and hands and is being treated at Colchester General Hospital.
A 30-year-old man, from Colchester, has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and theft.
He is being held in custody awaiting questioning.
