Colchester: Man charged with drink driving after cottage crash

AN 18-year-old man from Tiptree have been charged with drink driving after a car crashed into a cottage this month.

The incident happened in the early hours of October 28 when the driver of a silver car crashed into an historic cottage near the National Trust Mill in Bourne Road, Colchester.

The car flew through the air before hitting the side of the building – police said it was very fortunate that no one was badly injured.

The 18-year-old has been released on police bail and will appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on November 20.
