A MAN is due to appear in court later this month after having been charged with a number off offences following a road crash in north-east Essex.
The collision happened in Lawford when a 19-year-old man from Harwich was struck by a silver Skoda Octavia on Station Road shortly before 9:30pm on Wednesday, August 29. He was treated by paramedics for a leg injury.
A few hours later at an address in Manningtree, police arrested a 21-year-old man from Colchester before releasing him on police bail pending further enquiries.
On Tuesday, October 9, he was charged with one count of assault, one count of driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, one count of driving without insurance and one count of aggravated vehicle taking.
The man has been released on police bail prior to his appearance at Colchester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, October 30.
