A man was attacked near Colchester Sixth Form College in the early hours of this morning, police have said.
The man, in his 30s and from the Colchester area, was taken to hospital with a head injury after being assaulted by a robber in Colchester’s North Hill at around 3.40am, Essex Police said.
It is believed his wallet has been returned to him.
Detectives are investigating and are set to speak to the victim today.
A police cordon was set up in front of three offices in Colchester’s North Hill this morning.
