A MAN from Colchester is due to appear in court next month after been charged with an offence under the Animal Welfare Act following the death of a dog.
Police had initially been contacted shortly after 1am on Wednesday following reports that a dog had died on Bardfield Road in Colchester.
Officers arrived and found a dead Jack Russell in a bin. Later that day a 31-year-old man from the town was arrested by police and subsequently charged with one count of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.
He was released on police bail prior to his appearance at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 16.
