A serious collision closed a Colchester road and left a person badly hurt in hospital.
Police closed Mersea Road in both directions after the collision, which involved an overturned white van, just after 6pm today.
A passenger in the van was taken to Colchester General Hospital with serious injuries.
The road was closed for several hours for an investigation to be carried out.
