A TEENAGE driver who died when his car crashed into a bridge on the A120 at Elmstead has been named by police.
Nathan Wright, 19, of Colchester, was pronounced dead at the scene after his BMW 3 series left the road and collided with a bridge support.
He was travelling along the westbound carriageway of the A120 when he hit a support at Elmstead Bridge at 10am on Monday.
A 21-year-old man who was a front-seat passenger in the BMW was taken to Colchester General Hospital by ambulance with injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.
Officers at Stanway road policing unit have renewed their appeal for any witnesses to the collision and can be contacted on 0300 333 4444.
