Colchester: Police need help in tracking down attempted robbery suspect

POLICE are appealing for the public’s help in tracing the teenage suspect of an attempted robbery.

Attempts were made to steal a woman’s handbag as she walked home along a footpath which runs between East Bay and Haddon Park in Colchester.

More specifically the attempted robbery occurred near to where the footpath runs along the end of Timber Hill and happened between 8.45am and 8.55am this morning.

The suspect is described as white, aged about 17, 5ft 11ins tall, of skinny build with a pale complexion. He wore a royal blue tracksuit top and white trainers and had black unkempt hair.

Police understand the woman was assisted by a man who had been walking his dog. Officers are particularly keen to speak with this man who may be able to assist the investigation. He is described as white, aged in his 30s, 5ft 8ins tall and was wearing a green parka style coat.
