A man was walking home from the town centre at around 7.20pm on Saturday, October 19. He was approached in East Hill as he left the High Street by another man.

The victim was punched in the face and ran off down East Hill but was caught by the suspect who punched him again and then stole his bag. Members of the public came to the victim’s aid and his bag was recovered on East Hill.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the offence and are particularly keen to speak to the three men who came to the victim’s aid.
